Ex-Or’s acclaimed Connect Digital range of lighting connection modules (LCMs) has been expanded with the launch of hard-wired four and eight channel control modules.

With all the functionality of the market-proven Ex-Or CDW12U5 Intelligent Connection Centre, the new module is designed for greater mounting flexibility.  In particular, in locations where there is no false ceiling, it can be easily installed in an equipment cabinet or mounted on a DIN rail.

In an industry first, the four channel module from Ex-Or, part of Honeywell, offers 440v isolation between outputs, so enabling control of loads with differing phases.  This guarantees continued lighting control and unbroken delivery of lighting if a source of electricity supply fails.  For example, if an emergency power supply from a generator kicks in after a mains failure, all the lighting control elements will remain in operation.  This unique function makes the Ex-Or Intelligent Connection Centre a vital piece of equipment in a hospital.

Another advantage of this is that only one control module is needed for any location.  Traditionally, two separate modules are needed to guarantee unbroken continuation of lighting control in the event of a power supply failure.

The eight channel hard-wired LCM from Ex-Or is supplied with one volt-free channel.  This allows for seamless integration with all types of building Energy Management Systems.  For example, the LCM can detect the absence of occupants and then not only turn off or dim the lighting but also adjust the air conditioning or heating levels.

As with the entire Ex-Or Connect family of LCMs, the new modules are designed to deliver flexible lighting control solutions in many applications including offices, classrooms, meeting and conference rooms, hospitals, hotel rooms, corridors, factories, warehouses and all locations which have high atria.

They offer the same degree of simple and fast onsite installation and connection.  This accelerates the installation process, so cutting contract times and allows buildings to be occupied within a shorter time-frame.

The new modules are also easily capable of being upgraded in the field, so ensuring the products are future proofed as building managers’ lighting control needs change to reflect changing building use.
