NEMEX 2010 proved a resounding success for first-time exhibitor Marshall Tufflex Energy Management, which saw its stand swamped by delegates throughout the three-day event at Birmingham’s NEC.

*

The familiarity of the Marshall Tufflex brand, its large impressive stand, plus live demonstrations of its market-leading intelligent voltage optimisation system Voltis, attracted hundreds of visitors, with many having to wait speak with the company’s on-stand representatives.

*

Not only was MT Energy Management delighted with the huge number of show delegates wanting to find out more about its energy saving systems, the manufacturer was highly satisfied with the calibre of visitors and broad spectrum of operations they represented.

“Quite simply, NEMEX 2010 exceeded our expectations by some margin,” said MT Energy Management Business Manager Jeremy Dodge. “At times people were waiting in the aisles to get to speak with us. We expected to meet with building management companies, facilities specialists and energy managers working as consultants. However, we were really surprised and highly delighted to speak directly with decision-makers from the public sector, car manufacturers, building product manufacturers, county councils, banking chains and leisure facilities, as well as zoos and utility providers, all of whom are interested in installing our systems in their premises. The hard work now starts in fulfilling the requests for further information and site visits for surveys.”

MT Energy Management took three products to NEMEX:
*
Voltis: the only ‘intelligent’ voltage optimisation system available in the UK. In broad terms, this break-through technology delivers twice the power savings of standard competitor systems through the use of logic controlled multi-level auto-transformers. In virtually every case these can deliver savings twice that of standard step transformer systems. If Voltis was installed in every business and commercial building in the UK it would cut power bills by between 17% and 25%, typically paying for itself within three years. Interest-free Carbon Trust loans are available to cover the cost of the investment.

*

Live demonstrations of a 63Amp Voltis system took place on the NEMEX stand – two hairdryers were plugged in to the system and volts/KWH compared when they were turned on and off. Each time the Voltis unit kicked-in automatically when the dryers were operated and the volts/KWH/Amps could be directly compared. During each test Voltis reduced the amount of energy used by the hair dryers by at least 17% on a mains incoming voltage level of 239 volts.

*

Marshall-Tufflex Energy Management: also exhibited its recently acquired Sinergy range of sub-metering equipment. Sinergy determines exactly where power is being used, allowing energy managers to make properly informed decisions on how to reduce consumption and cut electricity bills. Its systems are non-invasive, easy to install and can be fixed or portable. Its application is most suited to industrial/manufacturing sites.

*

Ipsis: powered by SenseLogix, is designed to manage both electrical and ICT equipment in commercial settings, for example computers, lighting, water coolers, vending machines, docking stations, printers, photocopiers etc all with the aim of reducing power usage by up to 70%. The system paves the way for specifiers, developers, contractors and building owners to install hi-tech, market-leading energy reduction technology into their buildings either during construction or as a retrofit operation. Ipsis is integrated into cable management systems.

*

“Typically energy costs are one of the top three spends for most organisations, yet in many cases commercial and industrial entities are unable to determine exactly where this cost is incurred and how to reduce it,” said Mr Dodge. “The first step has to be pinpointing exactly where and when energy is being consumed to enable users to identify potential waste and MT Energy Management has the system to achieve this, whatever the size or function of the operation.”
