Think you know about voltage optimisation? Then think again. Marshall-Tufflex Energy Management has launched a new system that represents a significant step forward for this technology

Voltage optimisation is one of the fastest growing energy-saving technologies in the UK and Marshall-Tufflex Energy Management (MTEM) is therefore very excited to have developed a ‘next generation’ system that combines the best of standard products with intelligent operation, delivering demonstrable energy savings of 20% or more.

“Our research told us that not all voltage optimisation systems offer the same performance,” said MTEM Business Manager Jeremy Dodge. “So we’ve taken the concept and shifted it on a gear, developing Voltis. It really is a major step forward for this market sector and gives end users and specifiers guaranteed performance.”

The secret of Voltis’s success lies in its ability to constantly monitor incoming supply voltage, outgoing voltage and load being drawn and then adjust automatically to harmonise power supply with demand, maximising savings for clients while delivering brilliant carbon reduction results. It evens out peaks and troughs as mains supply fluctuates and switches to stand-by if supply dips too low or a ‘brown out’ occurs. If the system detects no power demand it switches off until demand returns and then, through intelligently controlled multi-level transformers, steps in accordingly. In addition, it automatically rotates transformers to prevent overheating. Voltis is also a self-cooling system (either by fan or air conditioning built in), removing further the risk of the system overheating and failing, as can happen with standard voltage optimisation units. In short, Voltis remains live and active at all times, giving clients surety of power supply, peace of mind and great financial and environmental benefits.

Marshall-Tufflex Energy Management works with the Carbon Trust to offer interest free funding for installations. Typical investment payback is within three years – much less for some clients. Case studies are available on completed installations, as is technical literature giving full details of the system.
