Fairford Energy and Energy Saving Solutions (ESS) have combined to deliver one of the largest CO2 reduction solutions in the UK.

The client, McDonald’s Restaurants Ltd, is continuously seeking to reduce its CO2 emissions across its UK restaurants. Tasked with delivering a core aspect of the solution ESS specified the Light Eco, a voltage reduction unit, which has now been deployed in over 1000 restaurants.

This solution is projected to save McDonald’s over 6000 tonnes CO2 in its first year alone following installation.
The anticipated next phase of the programme sees ESS and McDonalds specifying the HFE and XFE Energy Optimising Soft starts which will further reduce CO2 consumption and save typically 2-3 tonnes p/annum per unit.

The HFE is a single phase unit for use on chillers and freezers. The XFE is a 3 phase unit for use on freezers and HVAC applications. Both are globally recognised products and are proven
technology solutions.

Fairford are internationally renowned for energy saving products and have been manufacturing for this sector for nearly 30 years. This recent application is the latest in high quality engineering and innovation.
