2020 Vision - managing your energy and carbon future, today

 Print this page

The EU has recommitted itself to 20% carbon savings by 2020 as a result of Copenhagen and the UK to achieve 34% saving enshrined in the Committee on Climate Change legally binding budgets.

Between now and 2020 many policies, schemes and initiatives must be implemented to have any chance of the UK meeting these commitments. And these activities are evident now with CRC Energy Efficiency Scheme, roll-out of smart and advanced meters, new Part L Building Regulations very soon, Feed in tariffs to name a few.

These policies directly affect users’ decisions about new building and investment in old ones and it is vital to take the right decisions now to protect organisations future costs and operating efficiency.

The impact, scope and required implementation, is the theme of 2020 Vision, a series of free, one-day conferences being organised by the Energy Services and Technology Association. The aim is to provide delegates with information about these national policies and initiatives and encourage them to actively plan and implement a strategy to ensure their organisation protects its future.

The Carbon Trust has assessed that to meet its carbon budgets the UK must every available mechanism in both supply and demand side. There are no either, ors.  We need to implement all cost effective measures, rollout Display Energy Certificates across all non-domestic buildings, focus on the issues of operation and maintenance in the existing building estate.

ESTA invite you to attend a series of one-day events which will focus on the policies aiming towards 2020 but affecting our approach costs and investment today. Amongst topics being covered are:
